Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021-2022. She is a part of the Democratic Party and previously served as the White House deputy Press Secretary (2009), the White House deputy Communications Director (2009-2011), the spokesperson for US Department of State (2013-15) and as the White House communications direct (2015-17). Psaki was an election contributor to CNN between 2017-2020. Psaki's career started in 2001 when she began working for the reelection campaigns of Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrats running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was later appointed as the press secretary's deputy in John Kerry's 2004 presidential race. Psaki also worked as communications director for Joseph Crowley (U.S.) as well as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki returned in 2012 to political communication serving as press secretary for President Obama’s 2012 campaign for reelection. In the year 2000, Psaki was appointed the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. [20] There was speculation that Psaki was to replace Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary at the Department of State.[21However, Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30, 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to be the director of communications. She was a part of the Obama administration until its conclusion.
